  1. Four categories of the percentage of positive cells: 1: ≤5%; 2: 6%-35%; 3: 36%-70%; 4: ≥71% (40X). Four categories of the staining intensity: 1: negative; 2: weak; 3: moderate; 4: strong.
  2. Final score = score of percentage of positive cells × score of staining intensity. If the final score was >4, Bmi-1 expression was considered high, otherwise, Bmi-1 expression was considered low.
