Depletion of AMPK-β1 promotes cell proliferation and anchorage-independent growth ability. (A) XTT cell proliferation assay demonstrating that OV2008 (C2, C5 and C32) (P < 0.002) and OVCA433 (C1, C12 and C23) (P < 0.001) clones exhibited a 20-25% reduction in cell proliferation. (B) Focus formation assay showing that all AMPK-β1 stable knockdown clones in A2780cp (C2 and C5) (P < 0.001) and OVCA433 (C1 and C12) (P < 0.001) cells expressed a 2 to 3-fold increase in the number of foci.
