Effect of PSAT1 overexpression on drug resistance and cell cycle progression. A, Comparison of growth inhibition (IC50) between SW480-FlpIn and SW480-PSAT1. Cell cycle distribution of SW480 and SW480-PSAT1 cells following treatment with 20 nM SN38 (B), 10 μM 5-FU (C) and 2 μM oxaliplatin (D) for 72 hours. Cell cycle distribution was measured by propidium iodide staining with a FACScan flow cytometer. FACS profiles and the proportion of cells in each phase of the cell cycle are presented: cells with a high DNA content (black), cells in G2/M (white), S (grey), GO/G1 (white with black dots) and the subG1 phase (white and black slashes). Cells in subG1 represent cells in late apoptosis.
