  1. Knocking-down the multidrug resistance gene alone already inhibits expression of the NFκB subunit p65 and the survival factors bcl2 and survivin and induces apoptosis in melanoma cells. However these effects are not statistically significant. Only the combination of knocking down ABCA1 together with simultaneous application of Curcumin results in a statistically highly significant response in terms of apoptosis.
