EGFR isoform B arises from a transcript containing exon 15 and an alternate exon (15A) after exon 15, incorporating a Ser and a stop codon (accession# NM_201282). EGFR isoform C (accession# NM_201283) is a 60/80 kDa protein (p60) and arises from a readthrough of the boundary between exon 10 and intron 10-11, incorporating 2 unique carboxy-terminal amino acids (Leu-Ser) and a stop codon. EGFR isoform D (accession# NM_201284) is a 90/110 kDa protein (p110/sEGFR) and arises from incorporation of an alternate exon (15B) after exon 15, incorporating 78 unique amino acids and a stop codon.
