Tumor detection by SapC-DOPS. SapC-DOPS nanovesicles can be labeled with imaging agents during formulation. For histological specimens and in vivo studies with small animals, optical imaging with the far red fluorophore, CellVue Maroon (CVM) can be used. For in vivo MRI imaging, the gadolinium chelate (Gd-DTAP-BSA) or the ultra-small cuperparamagnetic firon oxide (USPIO) can be incorporated and used as MRI contrast agents.
