Syndecan-1 modulates expression and activation of the components of multiple signaling pathways including Notch, EGF/EGFR, and IL-6/STAT3/gp130. These changes have an impact on several features of the breast CSC phenotype, including CSC marker expression, and the formation of colonies and 3D spheroids
