Potential functions of circRNAs. CircRNA can act as miRNA sponges and subsequently regulate relevant target gene expression. CircRNA can regulate transcription and splicing of their parental genes. CircRNA can bind to several proteins to mediate their actions. Abundant IRES and m6A modification can promote multiple circRNAs to translation, especially abundance in GBM. CircRNAs also function as molecular biomarkers existing in serum as well as other body fluid to highlight the significant values for diagnosis and treatment of disease, including cancer
