EGFRvIII promotes tumor growth in a mouse xenograft model. (A) The cells (2,000 cells/well) were incubated for 96 hours, and the cell viability was measured at the indicated times using WST-8. Data shown are the means ± SD (n = 5). (B) Tumor volume in the mice implanted with mock, wtEGFR, and EGFRvIII-transfected LN229 cells. LN229 cells (3.0 × 106 cells/mouse) were subcutaneously implanted into BALB/c nu/nu female mice. (C) The tumors were extracted from the mice and weighed at day 26 after tumor implantation.
