Methylation of NC2β promoter. A: CpG islands upstream and downstream of NC2β, TAF12, TAF13 transcription start site. B: Methylation percentage of CpG sites within NC2β island. Samples with methylation levels below 10% are considered unmethylated: accordingly, we suggest that promoter methylation may explain the low NC2β mRNA expression only in sample NB41 (Figure 2). For methylation analysis of TAF12 and TAF13 promoter, (see Additional file 3).
