Evaluation of apoptosis in BL cells during exposure to EBV lytic cycle inducing compounds. EBV-positive Raji (circles) and EBV-negative Ramos (squares) and BL41 (triangles) cells were treated with P(BU)2, sodium butyrate and TGF-β as described in the Methods. At the indicated times (hours), samples were collected and analyzed for (A) cytofluorimetric determinations of sub-G1 events after PI staining or (B) immunodetection of native (113 KDa) and apoptotic (89 KDa) forms of PARP by Western blot. The results are representative of those obtained in at least three independent experiments.
