Suppression of W4P-mediated tumorigenicity by estrogen. (A) Scheme of the experiment. Male mice were injected with 0.5 mg/kg β-estradiol or PBS. One week later, mice were injected with W4P-LHB-expressing cells subcutaneously together with 0.5 mg/kg β-estradiol or PBS. Mice were injected with 0.5 mg/kg β-estradiol or PBS twice weekly. Tumor incidence (B) and tumor volume (C) were determined. (D and E) Serum IL-6 (D) and TNF-α (E) levels in mice were determined using a Bio-Plex cytokine panel (BioRad) and Luminex 200 (Luminex). **P < 0.01.
