T-cell exhaustion in patients with HPD. On the basis of a high concentration of neoantigen, the upregulation of exhausted T cells with high coexpression of PD-1, LAG3, TIM3, CTLA4 and TIGIT is connected to the resistance to anti-PD-1 therapy. Furthermore, exhausted T cells fail to reinvigorate as memory T cells ultimately become re-exhausted upon antigen clearance
